Fraud scenario targeting bank cards
July 26, 2023
We inform you about a new fraud scenario aimed at obtaining access to the confidential data of bank cards and, therefore, to the accounts attached to these cards.
How does it work? You may be contacted by attackers, who will pretend to be representatives of your bank's security service. Then, citing various reasons, they will try to convince you to cut the card (thus leading you to believe that cutting it would render it unusable) and then send it, along with the PIN code, to a certain address.
If you become the target of such a fraud scenario, please DO NOT comply with the attackers' request and notify us at the Vista Bank Call Center service (phone: +4021.222.33.10; e-mail: infovistabank.ro). We also encourage you to notify the Police as quickly as possible, as well as the National Cyber Security Directorate - DNSC (phone: 1911; email: alertsdnsc.ro).
We remind you that you must NOT pass on the card, the card data (last name, first name, card number, CVV2/CVC2 code) or your PIN to anyone under any circumstances.
The bank NEVER requests by email, SMS, phone or by accessing a link data such as: access passwords, PIN codes, bank accounts, credit or debit card data, token codes, etc. Also, the bank does NOT request you by phone or by any other communication channel to cut the card as a so-called security measure. If a card is compromised, the only security measure is your request to have it blocked by the bank.
