VISTA INTERNET & MOBILE BANKING MANUAL

The Vista Internet & Mobile Banking applications are a fast and convenient alternative to access your accounts anytime, anywhere. You can easily order transactions or manage your deposits and loans, both from your computer or laptop and from your smartphone or tablet. Furthermore, by using Vista Internet and Mobile Banking you get significantly lower commissions compared to the transactions ordered at the counter.

NEW: We launched a new version of the Vista Mobile Banking application that integrates the eToken app. Thus, the authentication and authorization of operations initiated via the Vista Internet Banking and Vista Mobile Banking applications will be much more streamlined and comfortable. The new application is based on the latest technologies in order to provide a pleasant user experience and an increased level of security. With the new version of Vista Mobile Banking you will be able to authenticate or authorize transactions with your fingerprint (Android/iOS), PIN code or Face ID (iOS).

At the same time, the Vista Mobile Banking application integrates the Appshielding security feature that ensures high protection against a wide range of sophisticated cyber-attacks. Moreover, Vista Mobile Banking also integrates Malwarelytics Antivirus, a security feature that protects your entire mobile device against possible malicious applications (mobile malware).

Another feature is the Beneficiary Name Display Service (SANB), which adds a new level of security to your Internet Banking payments.

Vista Internet Banking and Vista Mobile Banking applications incorporate the most advanced security technologies, allowing for secure operations, protected by two levels of authentication: (i) username and password; (ii) PIN codes or biometric methods (fingerprint or face recognition), through the Vista eToken app, integrated in Vista Mobile Banking.

Also, the Vista Mobile Banking application integrates the Appshielding security feature and the Malwarelytics Antivirus.

Appshielding allows the application to better protect itself against a wide range of sophisticated cyber-attacks, such as malware attacks, vulnerabilities related to rooting / jailbreak, debugger connection, Code or Framework injection, application repackaging and app integrity breaches, malicious screen readers or untrusted keyboards, overlay attacks, Man-in-the-App and Man-in-the-Middle scenarios, sensitive embedded key protection (white-box crypto). To benefit from all the improvements brought periodically to our mobile applications, we recommend you to ensure that they are updated to the most recent versions.

The Malwarelytics Antivirus is an anti-malware security feature that protects Vista Mobile Banking app and your entire mobile device. Malwarelytics immediately detects potential malicious applications active on your phone or tablet, enabling you to uninstall them immediately.

The Beneficiary Name Display Service (SANB) adds a new level of security to your Internet & Mobile Banking payments. Thus, when you enter the beneficiary's IBAN account in the electronic payment order, SANB will automatically display, in the "Account holder" field, the payment beneficiary’s first name and his/her surname initial, as they are registered in the systems of the payment beneficiary bank. In the case of a payment to a legal entity, SANB will display, for validation, the truncated name of the company. Thus, you will have the opportunity to check whether the name of the beneficiary coincides with the name automatically displayed in the "Account holder" field and to cancel or correct the payment order if they differ. SANB is a free service that aims to prevent fraud among customers making electronic payments and reduce erroneous transactions generated by the wrong entry of the payee's IBAN account. The service is available 24/7 among SANB participating banks.

The Vista Internet & Mobile Banking applications are a fast and convenient alternative to access your accounts anytime, anywhere. You can easily order transactions or manage your deposits and loans, both from your computer or laptop and from your smartphone or tablet.

You enjoy a series of functionalities, as well as a comfortable customer experience. A special feature is the virtual token (eToken), a mobile application that allows a high level of security for authenticating and authorizing transactions, by generating unique codes or by using biometric methods (fingerprint and facial recognition), depending on your option.Moreover, the Vista Mobile Banking and Vista eToken applications also integrate the Appshielding security feature that ensures high protection against a wide range of sophisticated cyber-attacks.

What are the Vista Online Banking applications?

Starting with September 14, 2019 the Delegated Regulation (EU) 2018/389 of November 27, 2017 supplementing EU Directive no. 2015/2366 of the European Parliament and of the Council (PSD2 Payments Service Directive) entered into force.

The PSD2 Directive regulates payment services and aims to improve the standards on which payments are made in the European Economic Area and stimulate innovation in the payment services market, so that they become safer and more efficient:

  • The Directive extends the scope and coverage area for payments in any currency made within the European Economic Area, but also for payments to and from countries outside the European Economic Area;
  • The Directive regulates new players on the payments market: third party payment service providers (Third Party PSPs) who can provide clients with information services about accounts or initiate payments directly from the client's account;
  • The Directive increases competition on the payments market and eases the path towards "one single banking market", a market without geographical or regulatory barriers and which is, moreover, an objective expressed at the level of the European Union. New operators and innovative payment methods through mobile phone and internet will appear.
  • Consumers will be better protected against fraud, abuse and payment incidents.

EU Delegated Regulation 2018/389 is directly applicable in Romania and aims to increase the security in using electronic payment instruments (through cards, internet / mobile banking) by establishing the security measures for Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) and for safe communication with third party payment service providers (Third Party PSPs).

According to PSD2, PSP Third Parties will be able to offer to the customers, upon request and based on their consent, new types of payment services, regarding the customers’ payments accounts, accessible online, opened to banks or to other payment service providers.

As a result, if you choose to provide access to your VISTA BANK accounts to a PSP Third Party, such as a FinTtech company or other banks, VISTA BANK will allow the PSP Third Party access to your account data so you can benefit from any of the services described below:

Payment Initiation Service

You will be able to pay directly from your VISTA BANK current account through the PSP Third Party application, without having to access Internet Banking / Mobile Banking, and, in order to authorize a payment, you will use your Internet Banking / Mobile user and password and the code provided by the Vista eToken mobile application.

Account Information Service

You will be able to view the balance and transactions in your VISTA BANK payment account through the Third Party PSP application, without having to access Internet Banking / Mobile Banking. In order to authorize the view, you will use your Internet Banking / Mobile Banking username and password and the code provided by the Vista eToken mobile application.

This authorization is valid for a maximum of 90 days. During this period of time, the PSP Third Party may request information from VISTA BANK about the accounts you have indicated, without the need to re-authorize access to your data during this period.

Confirmation of the Availability of Funds

You can consent to a particular PSP Third Party to check the balance available in your account for the purpose of initiating a transaction by the PSP Third Party. The agreement can be revoked by you, at any time, from the PSP Third Party application.

These 3 types of services are only available for payment accounts accessible through Internet Banking / Mobile Banking.

Also, for your security and the security of your accounts, before using your Internet Banking / Mobile Banking user ID and password to access the services provided by a PSP Third Party, it is advisible to be sure that PSP Third Party is authorized / registered, by accessing the following links:

  • Here, in the list “Payment institutions authorized by the NBR”;
  • Or here, in the section “Institutions from other EU Member States for which the competent authorities have notified the NBR that they are authorized to provide payment services in Romania”.

The decision to opt for any of the 3 services described above and to give access to a PSP Third Party to the data from your accounts opened at VISTA BANK (ROMANIA) S.A. belongs fully to you.
